The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has officially removed the bank account condition for beneficiaries of the Ramadan Package 2026 after facing strong public criticism.
Earlier, the government had announced Rs12,500 financial assistance for deserving families, but the requirement to have a bank account created serious concerns. Many citizens, especially from rural and remote areas, argued that access to banking services is limited, making the condition unrealistic for poor families.

Following pressure from social activists and local representatives, provincial authorities issued a formal notification withdrawing the condition.
Under the revised procedure, beneficiaries will now be registered through their CNIC, mobile number, and basic details. Officials say this step will expand access, improve transparency, and ensure that financial aid reaches deserving households without unnecessary hurdles.
The move is being seen as a relief for thousands of families across KP who were at risk of missing out on Ramadan assistance due to the earlier restriction.
