Gold and silver prices witnessed a sharp increase in both international and local markets, pushing rates to new highs.

In the global market, gold surged by $100 per ounce, reaching $5,278 per ounce. Following the international trend, local bullion markets also recorded a significant jump.

According to the Sindh Sarafa Bazar Jewellers Association, the price of gold per tola increased by Rs10,000, bringing the new rate to Rs550,562. Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs8,574, reaching Rs472,018.

Silver prices also climbed noticeably. Per tola silver increased by Rs388, hitting Rs9,862.

Just a day earlier, gold prices had remained stable in both global and local markets, while silver had shown a modest increase. The sudden surge is being linked to movements in international bullion markets and ongoing economic uncertainty.

Investors and buyers are closely monitoring price trends as volatility continues in the precious metals market.
